ANCISTRUS Software published

Effective velocity vectors of the middle atmospheric meridional circulation for September-October 2010 as inferred with the ANCISTRUS method from MIPAS measurements. This method estimates the circulation from trace gas distributions by the inverse solution of the continuity equation. Interested scientists find the software in the KITopen repository under https://doi.org/10.5445/IR/1000127728.

The ANCISTRUS method was published already in 2016 by Thomas von Clarmann and Udo Grabowski (https://acp.copernicus.org/articles/16/14563/2016/). More recent publications on the application of this method to MIPAS data (https://acp.copernicus.org/preprints/acp-2019-704/) and the validation of the method including model recovery tests (https://acp.copernicus.org/preprints/acp-2020-72/) currently encounter a lengthy reviewing odyssey. Their discussion is entertaining, indeed.
