ROMIC II-Joint Research Project WASCLIM, Subproject 5

The joint research project WASCLIM investigates the excitation and propagation of gravity waves, improves parameterizations of climate models, and investigates feedbacks on the tropospheric climate in the southern hemisphere. WASCLIM is part of research initiative ROMIC II and is funded by the BMBF. Within subproject 5, the limb-imaging infrared spectrometer GLORIA onboard the research aircraft HALO is used for the detection of gravity waves and the characterization of their chemical and dynamical environment.
